To setup your Remote Access on Mac OS
X, please follow the directions below:
1. Start from your desktop and click on the Apple in
the upper-left corner. Go down and click on System Preferences.

2. Once the System Preferences window loads, click on "Network"
to load the Network Preferences.

3. In the Network Preferences pane:
- Set location to "Automatic"
- Set Show to "Internal Modem"
- Set Configure to "use PPP"
- Enter the "Domain Name Servers" as:
- 64.242.76.11
- 192.41.1.144
- Leave the "Search Domain" area blank.
When you've entered this, click on the "PPP" tab.

4. In the PPP tab, Service Provider should be "hisnet.org"
Use the number finder
to find a telephone number.
Note: you
are responsible for selecting a phone number which is
local to your area. hisnet.org cannot be held responsible
for any toll charges related to the number selected.
- The "Account Name" is your user ID for logging into the
network. Note that this will include a prefix (such
as "srv2."
and a suffix such as @surf.net,
@world.net,
@pop.net,
@dial.net,
or @usa.
srv2.username@surf.net
If You don't know
your prefix or suffix, please call technical support
at 972-907-9399 for assistance.
- The Password is the password you selected for your
hisnet.org account.

5. Click the PPP options button. Check the following boxes:
- Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications
- Prompt every 15 minutes to
maintain connection
- Disconnect if idle for 15 minutes
- Disconnect when user logs out
- Use TCP header compression
Click OK to save these options.

6. Click the Proxies tab.
- Check the Web Proxy (HTTP) box
- Check the Secure Web Proxy box
- Enter 99.68.200.68 in the
address spaces next to the checked boxes
- Enter in the
port spaces to the right of the checked boxes

7. Click the Modem tab.
- Select the modem you wish to use
- Check the Enable error correction box
- Check the Sound On radio button
- Check the Tone Dialing radio button
- Check the Wait for dial tone box
Press the Apply Now button to save your settings.
